Bengaluru, April 11, 2019: HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced its association with Christel House in India to educate hundreds of students who lack access to education and opportunities. The Company will invest in the learning and well-being of students across age groups who come from underserved backgrounds. HARMAN will also aid these students in gaining soft skills, becoming independent and reaching their true potential. The two entities will work towards providing a holistic development to these young minds, helping them succeed in long-term and enhancing their quality of life.

For the last 20 years, Christel House International, a non-profit, has been transforming the lives of impoverished children around the world — breaking the cycle of poverty and building self-sufficient, contributing members of society. The school has changed the lives of 4600 students through its robust K-12 education model in countries like Mexico, South Africa, United States and India. HARMAN will work with non-profit organisations to serve students in India who come from families that are severely lacking in resources. Along with education, the support includes regular healthcare, nutritious meals, guidance counselling, career planning, family assistance, college and careers support.

“Children are truly the future of a nation. We are proud to partner with Christel House India in its efforts to educate children from underserved backgrounds. They are doing a phenomenal job across the world and we are happy to make a contribution in creating a strong future for the kids in India,” said Pradeep Chaudhry – Country Manager, HARMAN India, “It makes me happy that at HARMAN we are doing our bit towards offering opportunities to the deserving children – especially through holistic education provided at Christel House. This is the kind of responsible corporate that we always aimed to be.”

Talking about this partnership, Jaison C Mathew, CEO – Christel House India, said, “It’s heartening to see the commitment shown by HARMAN in providing resources and opportunities to our students who come from highly impoverished backgrounds. A Christel House Learning Center is a place for children to learn the values of respect, responsibility, independence and integrity, develop a love of learning and maximise their human potential. It is all given free of cost to these kids, and we need corporates like HARMAN to support us in this important journey.”
