Mumbai: The Ladies’ Wing of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the Bajaj Electricals Limited conferred the coveted 29th IMC Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar 2022 on Manish Ghule, Executive Director, Navchetana Sarvangin Vikas Kendra, at their flagship event. The award was presented by Falguni Nayar – Founder and CEO of Nykaa who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Manisha Ghule is the Executive Director at Navchetna Sarvangin Vikas Kendra Kaiij, Aurangabad. She is recognised for her exceptional contribution to rural entrepreneurship. She has introduced new occupations and career paths in secluded Indian villages, empowering the most marginalised and excluded rural women to earn money with dignity and reshaping their communities, agricultural economy, and social structures. These villages are impacted by global climate change, migration, declining agriculture, and joblessness. Manisha is shaping a new and sustainable employment model for rural women in these communities, one that will enable them to contribute to economic progress and assure social equity. Navchetana Sarvagin Vikas Kendra is a grassroots social change organisation working with marginalised and backward communities of Beed (Dalits, nomadic tribes, de-notified tribes, landless laborers, small and marginalised farmers, women, and children, handicapped, underprivileged, migrant sugarcane cutting communities and those affected by large-scale disasters).
The IMC Ladies’ Wing Jankidevi Bajaj Puraskar is an initiative that recognises, promotes, supports and honors women entrepreneurs,s working towards improving living conditions in rural India. The award is named after Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj, for all her pioneering work in the area of rural development.
