Delhi: As a committed Corporate Citizen and on the part of its responsibility towards the society, Indian Bank has dedicated a school bus, “Tata Winger School 18-Seater SCV”, to Tapan Rehabilitation Society, Karnal, to facilitate the children with disabilities who come from remote areas across Karnal district, to commute easily to the centre.
On behalf of the Bank, Sh. Mahesh Kumar Bajaj, GM(TMO/BPR) Corporate Office, Chennai and Sh. Ashok Patnaik, FGM (Chandigarh)handed over the keys of the vehicle to the Founder/Director, Dr Sujata (who was brand ambassador in “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” movement in Haryana) at Tapan Rehabilitation Society, Nilokheri, Karnal today.
Since its inception, Indian Bank has remained steadfast towards the upliftment of the underprivileged section of the society under its various CSR programmes. Assisting Tapan Rehabilitation Society, Karnal (Haryana), which was founded by Dr Sujata in 1993 and presently has many doctors, social workers and senior civil servants as members, is another step in that direction.
Tapan Rehabilitation Society was founded with a vision to provide equal opportunities to persons with disabilities or special abilities and create a conducive atmosphere for them to live with dignity and gain financial independence, and it has continued to make that difference.
Sh. Narendra Kumar (Zonal Manager), Sh. Sushil Kumar Sharma (Dy. Zonal Manager) and other senior officials of the Indian Bank, Karnal were also present on this occasion.
