Tauru, Haryana: M3M Foundation organised a tree plantation programme on World Environment Day at the Anaj Mandi in Tauru. The Foundation pledged to plant 10,000 trees, which will be done using the Miyawaki method. On this occasion, SDM Sanjeev Kumar and DSP, Mukesh Kumar, along with other dignitaries were also present.
Well-known social worker and patron of M3M Foundation, Abha Bansal, who was the chief guest of the programme, ensured M3M Foundation’s commitment to environmental conservation. She said, “Ever since the M3M Foundation and Sarvodaya programme were established, environmental protection has been our main priority. We will
continue to do whatever possible for the development of Tauru.”
After the programme, Anaj Mandi, and Abha Bansal also visited village Charoda, where she planted the trees along with school teachers and community members. Representatives of the organisation, school principal, other teachers, village Sarpanch, Anganwadi workers, ANM and other villagers also participated in the programme.
On this occasion, Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, President of M3M Foundation, said, “The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is ‘Solution to Plastic Pollution’, and we need to make collective efforts to make our environment plastic-free. Tree plantation is only the beginning; we have to move towards sustainable development holistically.”
M3M Foundation has so far planted more than 3,50,000 trees across India, out of which 1,50,000 trees have been planted in Tauru with the cooperation of community members, with a survival rate of more than 85 per cent. Revitalisation work of six water bodies is underway in Tauru and revitalisation work of many more water bodies will start soon.
