Mercedes-Benz India Donated a Mercedes-Benz GLE Vehicle to Government Engineering College, Thiruvananthapuram for Training Purposes


Thiruvananthapuram, January 16, 2019: India’s largest luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz, handed over a Mercedes-Benz GLE on the convocation event of the Government Engineering College, Thiruvananthapuram, as part of its one-of-a-kind Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) CSR initiative. Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) course is spread across four other institutes, including government polytechnics of Pune and Aurangabad, and also at the All Women’s Institute MKSSS’s Cummins College of Engineering and G.B. Pant, Delhi. MB India also offers scholarships to students from lower economic strata every year who enroll and are eligible for the ADAM courses.

Shekhar Bhide, Vice President, Customer Services and Corporate Affairs, Mercedes-Benz India, along with V. K. Prasanth, MLA, and Dr. Indiradevi Director, Technical Education, Kerala, were present at the occasion.

ADAM is a unique public-private partnership initiative aimed at developing vocational competence and knowledge base of advanced mechatronics technology to boost employment opportunities for the youth. The courses have been designed in collaboration with the Engineering College of Thiruvananthapuram, G.B. Pant Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the Government Polytechnics of Pune and Aurangabad. MB trainers in India are globally qualified and highly competent to certify other markets.

The Mercedes-Benz car is particularly useful for learning and training purposes during the course of ADAM. This course provides expertise and hands-on experience of the advanced technology in mechanical and electronics skill set for the students enrolled for the course. The students will be able to enrich their learning and enhance their technical skill-set to get familiar with the latest automobile technology with the Mercedes-Benz GLE.
