Goa, January 13, 2020: NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited (NSDL e-Gov) in association with Provident Housing Limited, a 100 percent subsidiary of Puravankara Limited., initiated the ‘Provident Housing Scholarship’ programme under its flagship online platform, Vidyasaarathi. Through this initiative, NSDL e-Governance along with Provident Housing intends to help students get access to higher education and pursue their dream. NSDL e-Governance is bringing the Vidyasaarathi initiative to Goa for the first time with the help of Provident Housing Limited. Each year, 25-30 deserving students will be awarded this special scholarship which covers the academic course fee for the entire year.
Aimed at supporting students who are economically disadvantaged, NSDL e-Governance and Provident Housing Limited shortlisted two colleges for this scholarship programme – MES College of Arts & Commerce, and Goa College of Architecture. The first conferring of scholarship was organised at both the educational institutions. 13 students from MES College of Arts & Commerce and 15 students from Goa College of Architecture were awarded the scholarship, which is equivalent to their academic course fee for the year 2019-2020.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO and MD, NSDL e-Governance, Gagan Rai, said, “At NSDL e-Governance, our goal is to facilitate education financing across India thereby encouraging more and more students to dream big and work hard towards fulfilling their dream. These students from Goa are very deserving and our association with Puravankara and Provident Housing will help these deserving students in accomplishing a great future.”

The scholarship programme is open to the students of these two colleges whose parent/ guardian’s income is less than Rs. 5,00,000 per annum and special preference are given to students belonging to the indigenous tribal community. Additionally, students pursuing a full-time B.Com degree from MES College and B.Tech from Goa College of Architecture with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks are eligible for this scholarship.
