Mumbai, December 4, 2020: StepSetGo (SSG), India’s fastest-growing fitness application and Aatmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge winner have announced a special partnership with Habitat for Humanity India. Through this partnership, StepSetGo aims to reach its users to help assist the NGOs humanitarian efforts for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The bootstrapped fitness startup aims to do so, through customised paid virtual marathons accessible in the ‘Arena’ section of the app. The challenges go LIVE on December 5, 2020, and are now open for enrollment.

Open to all users, new and old, the challenge invites audiences to participate through a minimum contribution of INR 100, paid directly on the official Habitat for Humanity India registration page – https://habitatindia.org/gomarathons/. Participants can also contribute more than the minimum donation as well if they’d like. The 24-hour challenge is in a ‘First to Goal’ format that involves three marathon challenges that users can choose from i.e. 10km, 5km, and 2km. Participants who reach the target distance first under each challenge will be awarded 10 SSG Coins, 5 SSG Coins, and 2 SSG Coins, respectively (i.e. the in-app currency used to redeem goodies from the ‘Bazaar’ section of the app). Additionally, on completion, all participants will receive an e-certificate for the contribution they made towards the cause, given by Habitat for Humanity India.

Speaking on the partnership, Shivjeet Ghatge, CEO and Co-founder, StepSetGo said, “Since inception, the larger goal of StepSetGo is promoting fitness and building fitter communities. We have kept innovation at the forefront to make this initiative seamlessly fit into people’s lives. The partnership with Habitat for Humanity India is an extension of the overarching objective of nurturing lives in every way possible that StepSetGo thrives on. We are extremely grateful to extend our family of 7 million users to this initiative and make as much impact as possible. COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on lives around the world and each one of us must offer possible support in our capacity.”

“With no sustained access to secured income, people living in low-income groups are the most vulnerable to the perils of COVID-19. In these difficult times, community participation across the social and economic spectrum is vital to ensuring that security and livelihood sustenance is provided to the people affected by COVID-19 Pandemic. Our partnership with StepSetGo in organising the marathon, volRUNteer, on International Volunteer day, will help us move forward towards providing essential support to the marginalised community and ensure their wellbeing in times of crisis. I want to extend my gratitude towards the team of StepSetGo and urge all the users to support Habitat India to reach out to the most vulnerable people and help them sustain through the pandemic,” said Rajan Samuel, Managing Director, Habitat for Humanity India.

Since its launch, StepSetGo has thrived on its unique hook of rewarding users for simply walking.  With its popularity growing tremendously across different segments and age brackets. How it works is simple. StepSetGo tracks the number of steps a user takes and for every 1000 steps taken, it rewards them with 1 SSG coin (the in-app currency). Furthermore, the app makes fitness fun and accessible through gamification and social interactions enabled by the ‘Arena’ section where users can participate in challenges or create their own to build their SSG coin collection quicker. All the while also incentivising users to stay motivated and committed to their journey through rewards redeemable through the ‘Bazaar’ section of the app. Users can redeem their coins with brands that have partnered with SSG which over the year have included Bajaj Avenger, Puma, Skechers, Bewakoof, and Decathlon. The app is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
