Noida: TELUS International India (TII), a leading digital customer experience (CX) innovator that designs, builds and delivers next-generation solutions for global and disruptive brands, including AI and content moderation, recently held its annual TELUS Days of Giving (TDOG) by refurbishing Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya, a public high school in Noida. Inspired by their shared passion for volunteering and a strong sense of community, more than 500 team members turned out to volunteer for the day in support of Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya’s 1,200 students.
During the activity, the team members refurbished three buildings with 20 classrooms as well as several hallways and staircases. They also refurbished hundreds of school desks and benches and donated an additional 210 desks and benches. For the school’s newly built computer lab, TELUS International India will donate 35 computers, together with desks and chairs. And because the day-to-day experiences of students at school are not limited to the classrooms, the company also built a basketball court, planted several garden areas, and created beautiful murals all around the school premises.
In addition to the school renovations, the volunteers from TELUS International India also interacted with students during a career workshop and mentoring activity that was designed to help the students prepare for their upcoming university interview sessions.
“India has one of the largest and most diverse education systems in the world, with a substantial youth population. The importance of contributing to the future of India’s youth is reflected in the country’s National Education Policy which aims to bring vital transformation in our education system. At TELUS International India, we understand the transformative power of education which can help create job opportunities for the underprivileged and ultimately contribute to nation building. During this TELUS Day of Giving, we reinforce our commitment to contribute back to our communities through our efforts to positively impact the lives and future of over 1,200 students at the Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya,” said Rajiv M. Dhand, Regional Vice President for TELUS International Asia-Pacific and Africa.
Since 2007, TELUS Days of Giving activities have impacted the lives of over 1.2 million people in each of the countries where TELUS International operates. This community focused movement has been propelled by the organization’s team member volunteers who continue to carry the company’s Give Where We Live philosophy in the communities where they live and raise their families to benefit their local communities.
“Our TELUS Days of Giving initiatives span over two decades of service to our communities, and have inspired more than 75,000 team members to mobilize and contribute their time, energy, resources and talents to help make the world a better place. I am both humbled and proud of our team members’ passion to make our company’s caring culture felt outside our workplaces,” shares Dhand.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya, Hemendra Kumar shared, “We are extremely delighted and happy to welcome the TELUS International India team in our school. On behalf of the teachers and students at Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya, we thank the TELUS International India team for their contributions to transform our school and create a more conducive and better environment for learning.
