Pipavav: APM Terminals Pipavav, one of India’s most efficient ports, continues its commitment to community development by organising the Swami Vivekanand Inter Village sports event. This annual initiative, held as part of the company’s ‘Gyan Jyot Project,’ aims to foster fitness, encourage collaboration among schools, and enhance the overall health of the youth in the surrounding villages.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Captain P.K. Mishra, COO, APM Terminals Pipavav, who also served as the Chief Guest for the event. Over 650 students, with approximately 50 per cent girls, from 13 schools across six villages, including Rampara, Bherai, Shiyalbet, Padar, Thavi, Divalo, Devpara, Kadiyali, and Pipavav Dham, enthusiastically participated in the annual sports event. The diverse range of sports featured in the event included Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Long & High Jump, and 100- and 200-metre races.
APM Terminals Pipavav perceives these initiatives as more than just sports events. They serve as platforms for the overall development of young individuals, fostering a sense of teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition. The event not only encourages fitness but also inspires students to consider sports as a viable career path.
Beyond the sports arena, APM Terminals Pipavav continues to make a positive impact on the community through its various CSR projects. Initiatives such as the mobile science and maths lab, mobile health unit, 24×7 advanced life support ambulance, mobile vet clinic, skill and entrepreneurship development institute, Uddan, Harit, and Pravah reflect the company’s commitment to the holistic well-being of the community.
