Mumbai: This Diwali, Ketto, India’s crowdfunding platform, launched a heartwarming campaign to spread joy and kindness to senior citizens at the Smit Old Age Home and Care Foundation. The initiative brought festive cheer to 126 elderly residents, capturing the true essence of Diwali — connection, light, and shared moments.

Ketto’s team visited the home, sharing a festive lunch and lighting diyas alongside the residents. Together, they created a vibrant rangoli, filling the celebration with colour and joy. The day ended with a joyful cake-cutting ceremony, fostering warmth, laughter, and heartfelt interactions.

Beyond just giving gifts, the campaign focused on building meaningful connections. A speaker was gifted to the home, bringing joy to the residents who love singing and listening to music. The aim was to offer something that would create lasting moments of happiness and community for the seniors.

Ketto’s Diwali campaign was not just about celebrations; it was about connecting with residents of the old age home and spreading kindness.  Spending time with the elderly at the old age home served as a powerful reminder of the importance of caring for our elders, especially during festive seasons when they may feel particularly alone. The campaign emphasised that the true joy of Diwali lies in sharing love and inclusion with those who need it most.

Varun Sheth, Co-founder & CEO of Ketto, reflected on the personal significance of this initiative: “For me, Diwali has always been about spending time with my grandparents, and those memories are very close to my heart. This campaign felt personal because it allowed us to share that warmth and joy with the residents at Smit Old Age Home and Care Foundation. Seeing their smiles truly brought the spirit of Diwali to life for us.”
