Delhi: In a remarkable display of community engagement and environmental stewardship, Smiling Tree, a leading environmental organisation, founded by Dr Mukesh Kwatra, conducted a successful plantation drive at Central Park in RK Puram, Southwest Delhi. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of numerous residents, all united by their shared commitment to greening their local environment.
The event was led by Smiling Tree’s dedicated volunteer, Moina Singh, whose passion for the environment and community engagement was evident throughout the day. Under her guidance, approximately 250 flowering plants, including chrysanthemums, marigolds, curry leaf plants, and jatropha trees, were planted in various sections of Central Park.
“This initiative underscores the importance of community involvement in nurturing a greener and healthier environment,” said Dr Kwatra. “We believe that by working together, we can make a significant positive impact on our surroundings.”
In a heartwarming gesture, Smiling Tree gifted each participant with a ‘live gift’ in the form of a plant. This not only symbolises the organisation’s commitment to sustainable living but also serves as a lasting reminder of the day’s collective efforts to enhance the local greenery.
The event brought together people of all ages and backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility for the environment. Participants took pride in actively contributing to the betterment of their community and city.
Smiling Tree expressed its gratitude to all the residents, volunteers, and supporters who made this plantation drive a resounding success. Such initiatives play a crucial role in combating urban pollution, enhancing air quality, and beautifying public spaces.
The organisation looks forward to future collaborations and endeavours aimed at making Delhi a greener, healthier, and more vibrant place to live.
