New Delhi: Valvoline Cummins Private Limited, the Original Engine Oil maker and a leading global lubricant manufacturer, organised a two-day vaccination drive in Khandsa, Gurgaon, beginning today. The camp is targeted at drivers, mechanics, and allied community members and their families in association with the Chief Medical Officer, Gurgaon, Dr Virendra Yadav, and Synergies Institute of Trade Commerce and Industry. This would be the third camp by Valvoline Cummins for the community.
The camp was organised keeping in view the rising cases of the new COVID-19 variant that India has observed over the last two weeks and will inoculate more than 500 people. The camp was attended by Hukum Sharma, President, Gurgaon Transport Union, and Amit Vashisht, Zonal Mangar, North and West India, Valvoline Cummins Private Limited.
Speaking on the initiative, Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director, Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd., said, “At Valvoline Cummins, health and well-being of our community and associates come first. That principle has been the driving force behind everything we do. Ensuring that everyone is vaccinated is most important to us and we are thankful for the support from Chief Medical Office, Gurgaon, and Synergies Institute of Trade Commerce and Industry to organise this vaccination drive.”
The CSR team of Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd. is actively involved in supporting communities – pandemic or no pandemic. In 2019, it led a watershed development project near its Ambernath Plant, which improved water availability for six villages nearby. Under the CSR initiatives, the company donated a 100 bed COVID care facility equipped with IV stands and oxygen concentrators, PPE and Hygiene Kits and supported government hospitals by donating crucial medical equipment in Gurgaon and Sonipat. In another instance, it distributed masks, sanitisers, and caps to more than two lakhs – Mechanics, Drivers, Helpers, Construction, and on-site workers pan-India. In 2020, in Gurugram, they raised and developed a nursery to protect native plants species on the verge of extinction. Also, the brand distributed food packets amounting to INR 4 million as the Company’s CSR initiative to the affected families (approx. 3000 families) living in Maharashtra, Bihar and Assam.
