Tiruvannamalai: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd (IYM) inaugurated a new school building at the Panchayat Union Primary School in Devanandal, Tiruvannamalai. The building, which has been named ‘Yamaha Block’, has two classrooms and can accommodate over 60 children. Undertaken as a part of India Yamaha Motor’s ‘Model School Infrastructure’ project, this Govt. Primary School educates kids from the nearby village till the fifth standard.
Aiming to improve the quality of education and support local students in the region, Yamaha will be taking care of the entire infrastructure of the school block including furniture (desks, benches, and chairs) and sanitary facilities along with school bags and shoes for the children. Initiated in September 2023, the project was completed in a remarkable four-month timeframe.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by senior management members of Yamaha, including Atushi Nagashima, Director, and P. S. Ganeshan, Vice President. Dignitaries from the Tamil Nadu Government including T. Ganeshamurthi, Chief Educational Officer, Tiruvannamalai; S. P. Karthikeyan, Deputy Education Officer, Tiruvannamalai; Thenmozhi, Block Education Officer, Tiruvannamalai; and Saravanan, Headmaster of Panchayat Union Primary School, Devanandal, Tiruvannamalai, also graced the occasion.
