Chennai, June 14, 2020: Nippon Paint (India), Asia’s leading paint manufacturer joined hands with the Rotary Club of Madras East to renovate and repaint sections of a Government Hospital for Thoracic Medicine (GHTM), Chennai. This is an effort to provide a healthy indoor environment with reduced possibility of bacterial infections for the hospital’s residents, who are mostly patients of chronic respiratory diseases. Nippon Paint has rendered support for the initiative by providing paint from their eco-friendly and anti-bacterial wellness range.
The objective of the project is to assist GHTM to create a modern, fully equipped, eight-bedded, non-TB respiratory intensive care unit. Approximately 110 litres of health and wellness paint, primers and painting tools were supplied by Nippon Paint to sanitise select areas of the hospital premises.
Speaking about the initiative, S Mahesh Anand, President – Decorative Paint, Nippon Paint India commented “We are happy to collaborate with the Rotary Club Chennai for this timely initiative. Given the COVID-19 situation, there is a strong need to update and improve sanitation and other facilities in government hospitals. Nippon Paint is happy to contribute with our unique wellness paint range that has hi-tech properties like anti-bacterial, anti-formaldehyde and zero odour. We hope this will aid the patients.”
Speaking about the association, architect Sujitha Arvind, a member of The Rotary Club of Madras East said, “We are thrilled to partner with Nippon Paint to repaint the hospital premises. I believe that their safety and wellness paint range will go a long way in protecting the space from harmful infections and help in the quick recovery of the patients. This will also help in preventing cross-infections and protect the staff working in the ICU.”
