Kolar: Wistron Manufacturing India, as part of the WistronWeCare CSR Program, donated a new oxygen generator plant at Malur Government Hospital. The high-capacity plant was inaugurated by Shri K Y Nanjegowda, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Malur, in the presence of Shri Dekka Kishore Babu IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kolar. Also present on the occasion were Hank Hsu, Vice President – Wistron India, Nagaraj M, Managing Director and Senthil Kumar, General Manager of Wistron Infocomm Manufacturing, among others.
As a part of Wistron’s commitment to the community, the social responsibility Wistron WeCare CSR Program was launched to extend support and relief during the pandemic. Under this programme, the company has already distributed 1000 face shields and 10000 masks to the district police; handed over 10 oxygen concentrators to various Primary Health Centers and Community Health Centers in Kolar district; distributed food and ration kits to the poor and marginalised families located around the factory at Narasapura Industrial Area. As the culmination of the Phase One programme, the Oxygen Generator Plant, which is equipped to provide uninterrupted oxygen support to 100 patients at any given time, was inaugurated. The Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) HENGDA oxygen generator plant has a capacity of 12m3/hr with a purity rate of 93-95 per cent.
Commenting on the Wistron WeCare CSR initiative’s oxygen generator plant launch, Hank Hsu, Vice President – Wistron India, said, “Wistron continues to be committed to improving healthcare infrastructure in the community where we operate. As part of this commitment, we had embarked on this CSR programme to extend support and relief through emergency equipment, health kits, safety materials, and food rations, as per need, to government agencies, frontline workers, the poor and the marginalised. Availability of uninterrupted oxygen supply at hospitals play a vital role and we are pleased to provide this facility at Malur Government Hospital. Wistron will continue to fight the pandemic along with the local community and extend all support as required.”
Nagaraj M, Managing Director, Wistron Infocomm Manufacturing India, said, “During the second wave, it was noticed that some hospitals had a severe shortage of oxygen supply which also resulted in the loss of lives. In close consultation with the district administration, we decided to install this high-capacity oxygen generator plant at Malur GH. We sincerely hope that this facility helps with the much-needed oxygen supply and aids the hospital to take care of the critical needs more comfortably including a possible third wave if it comes.
