Kancheepuram: India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM), as part of its commitment to community welfare, donated an Ultrasound System to the Government Head Quarters Hospital in Kancheepuram. Alongside this, renovation of the scanning room was also undertaken by the company and successfully completed. Held recently, the inauguration ceremony marked the successful completion of this initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare services of the underprivileged in the region and nearby areas.
As part of the company’s commitment to healthcare and community welfare focused on areas near its factories, IYM completed this project in a record 45-day time encompassing the acquisition, setup of the ultrasound equipment, and the revamping of the scanning room.
While the renovation of the scanning room will ensure more hygiene and compatibility with the latest machine, the advanced ultrasound system will enable the hospital with multiple diagnostics such as viewing the uterus and ovaries during pregnancy and monitoring the developing baby’s health, diagnosing gallbladder disease, evaluate blood flow, guide needle during biopsy or tumour treatment, examine a breast lump, check the thyroid gland, find genital and prostate problems, and assess joint inflammation (synovitis), among others.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the participation of Yamaha’s senior management – Atushi Nagashima, Director; P. S. Ganeshan, Vice President and S Kumar, Vice President. Joint Director for Health Services, Kancheepuram – Dr. Gopinath (MBBS, MS) also graced the ceremony along with esteemed representatives from Government Head Quarters Hospital – their Superintendent – Dr. Balakrishnan (MBBS, D. Ortho); DMRD – Dr. Mageshwari (MBBS); and Dr. Anantharaman Subramani (MBBS).
